WGC v Sussex

Match Report courtesy of Dave O'Brien
we enjoyed a good match with Sussex with the match result being 5 to 3 in Wiltshires favour.
Our captain was soon in trouble on the course struggling to reach the first tee with a trolley hired with a guaranteed 36 hole battery, he made it to the 2nd tee but was then given a buggy to complete the round (some of us had to pay £20 for a buggy but being captain has some perks).
Any way the match itself went as follows
Captain and Ian Pearson-
Dave O'Brien and Terry Broom-
Peter Holley and Brian Watts-
Dave Sargent and Neil Patch-
Malcom Nixon and Jim Murdoch-
Alan Edwards and Fred Psyk-
Gordon Kenneth and Peter Wesley-
Stuart Shewry and Dick Soloman-
We were very lucky to play in superb conditions with we were told all the greens were fast and sloped towards the sea, many of us found that with a putt from the high side of the green we would start with a 10ft putt which would the be followed by a 15 ft putt, however all went well and we gained a deserved win. For those that knew Phil Powell our ex captain he has moved to Sussex and played against us however Terry Broom and myself made sure he wouldn't take points off us
