WGC   v   Worcestershire

17 Sept 2015  at the Kidderminster GC

After the deluge that fell across the country on Wednesday, we arrived at Kidderminster to find blue skies and sunshine. The rain had failed to reached this area although it was still feeling the effects of rain earlier in the week, so pick and place was in operation for the first game of the season.

The match was a couple of milestones, it was our Captain Bill Hartley's last game after 12 months of a successful year. It was also Brian Coleman, the Worcestershire Captain, who was playing his last match after his 2 year term so a good finish for each team was desired!

In the end, a comfortable win for Wiltshire rounded off the great year for Bill. The trophy exchange was ‘different’ as the Sussex trophy in the M&S bag was deemed inappropriate for the event, so a wine bottle jug was deemed more appropriate!! A minor blip on the day!
