Summer Meeting 2017

Thanks go to Geoff Titt for a great Report and to Ian Lund for some great photos

Fourteen teams from fifteen of our member clubs took part in this year’s Summer Meeting for the “Tom Sherry Trophy” at Kings down Golf Club on Thursday 22 June.

On a course with fast running fairways, slick greens and a strong wind everyone knew they faced a tough examination, the one saving grace was the fact that temperatures 10 degrees lower than the previous day’s record 30 plus made condition a little more bearable.

The scores below reflect the stern test we all endured. This competition has been consistently won in the past with scores in the 120’s.  Home club Kingsdown are to be congratulated on their victory with a winning score of 108 points.

Our thanks go to Kingsdown Golf Club for hosting the event, to their green staff for the presentation of the course and club house staff who fed and watered us well during the day.

A final vote of thanks to June Poffley our President for presenting the prizes and assisting me throughout the day with reception duties and collating the scores.

Next year we are due to play this event at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club.
