Bob Stacey Memorial Trophy


This year the Spring meeting playing for the Bob Stacey Memorial Trophy was played at West Wilts Golf Club. This being our Captain Bill Hartley’s home club. The event was well supported with 85 players which included 2 visitors each from Oxfordshire, Somerset and Dorset Golf Captains.

The weather on the day was excellent virtually full sun during the match, this together with the really good condition of the course made the day very enjoyable. The dinner after the match was well received and compliments were paid to the chef and his staff.

The winner amongst the visitors was Mike Sibley with 30 points who is the current Oxfordshire Captain.

The winner of the Bob Stacey Memorial Trophy was Andy Cook from The Wiltshire with a very commendable score of 41 points.

Second on count back between three players was West Wilts current captain Guy Bettesworth with 40 points and third place was won by Ian Young from Wrag Barn.

The winner of the best first nine with a score of 21 again on count back was Richard Callow from West Wilts.

The best back nine was won by Dave Clutson from Tidworth with a points total of 22.
