Spring Meeting at Wrag Barn 2014

The Spring Meeting playing for The Bob Stacey Memorial Trophy was this year played at Wrag Barn. It was probably the sunniest day of the year so far, all the 101 competitors played in a virtually wind less sunny day. The course was in really good condition and a credit to the green staff who must have worked hard once the spring rains had ceased. Although the scores were not particularly high everyone enjoyed their day. Steve Griffiths our 2014 Captain certainly enjoyed his day achieving a hole in one on the par three fifthNo one could recall a Captain getting a hole in one at any of our previous meetings

so it was likely to have been a first and worth recording.

He was presented with a "Hole in one club" tie by Wally Bryson, Captain of Wrag Barn. Our six guests were Tom Davey and Stuart Sinclair from Oxford, Rob Ford and David Andow from Somerset and Derek Grimes and Ron Rogers from Dorset. After a very nice meal prizes were presented to the following:-

The guests competition was won by Stuart Sinclair from Oxford.

The 7 prizes were distributed between 7 different clubs, but the Smith's are looking to make a takeover.
