Wiltshire Captains Versus Shropshire and Herefordshire Captains

at Wrag Barn Golf Club

It was a great pleasure to welcome the Shropshire and Herefordshire Captains to Wrag Barn

We had a lovely day with the match being played in bright sunshine although there was a tricky blustery wind

The team came together fairly well with only two withdrawals you were replaced from the reserves.

Thankfully Wiltshire prevailed, winning 5.5 to 2.5

The events of the day were fairly routine, with the exception of the second match who somehow managed to play the 18th after playing the 11th.

While we might be able to forgive the S&H guys most of whom had never played Wrag before, our men should have known better particularly given all the signs and markers showing the way.

This is particularly true of David Walker who must have played Wrag many times as a Past President of the Wiltshire Golf Union.

Anyway this provided a great topic of conversation over dinner, presided over By Ray Smith who was standing in for Bill Hartley.

After a very pleasant day we all departed content and well fed.
