Wiltshire Golf Captains “v” Gloucestershire Captains

On a day which threatened rain in the latter stages, which fortunately did not materialise, the WGC played the Gloucestershire Captains at “The Payers Club” near Bristol.

Following the customary lunch of soup and sandwiches and announcement of pairings Captain Bill and his partner Barry Hales lead the way and set the marker by with a 3&1 victory over Gloucestershire Vice Captain Paul Watts and Vice President John Edwards.

Further success followed with wins in the next 4 matches thus securing victory for the WGC, unfortunately the early success could not be sustained as WGC lost the last 3 rubbers.

Following  a defeat at home in this fixture last season it gave Captain Bill great pleasure to announce a 5 – 3 victory, also to thank the Gloucestershire Captains for their  hospitality and friendship and for the Players club for presenting a course in fine condition.
