Autumn Meeting at Kingsdown 2014

This year the Autumn meeting playing for “The Burridge Salvers" was held at Kingsdown Golf Club.

There were 86 playing captains including six visitors, two each from Sussex, Berkshire and Hampshire. The weather was perfect for golf and the course was playing very well which contributed to some good scores.


After the golf we all sat down to a lovely meal complete with a glass or two of wine which was kindly supplied by our President David O’Brien. After the presentation of prizes the Annual General Meeting was held which included the voting in of our President for 2015 Ray Smith from The Wiltshire and our Captain Bill Hartley from West Wilts.


The Captain of Kingsdown provided a prize for nearest the hole on the 17th raising £175 for his charity “Hope for tomorrow” which was won by Andy Smith from Upavon and Brian Daniels from North Wilts.

Competition Winners were as follows.


The guest prize was won by Mark Terry from Sussex and Phil Hadfield from Berkshire.

The Prize for the best front 9 was won by Andy Smith and his partner Brian Daniels, the back 9 was won by Paul Marshall from Kingsdown and his partner Brian Watts from Chippenham.

Third place for the Burridge Savers, after count back, was won by Gordon Blagbrough from Upavon and his partner David Spavin from South Wilts second place was taken by Garry Dee from Wrag Barn and his partner John Charles from Hamptworth.


The winners of the Burridge Salvers with a magnificent better ball medal score of 61 were Tony Leach from Marlborough and his partner Richard Allen from South Wilts.
