Autumn Meeting 14th September North Wilts G.C.

Wiltshire Golf Captains President June Poffley hosted the Autumn meeting where golfers played for the Burridge Salvers – a 4 ball better ball medal competition. As well as Wiltshire golfers guests were present from Berkshire, Hampshire and Sussex.

The competition was contested by 52 golfers and was being played in lovely weather until a 30 minute torrential storm led to some tricky playing conditions for the remainder of the round. However despite this some incredible scores were returned. Winners:

Best guest  (67)– Howard Brace (Hampshire) and Brian Street (Sussex)

Best front 9 (28) – June Poffley and David Ruffett

Best back 9 (32) – Peter Notton and Tony Leach

Runners up (61) – Peter Rattue and Harry Hassall

The winners with an incredible medal score of Net 58 were:

David Spavin and John Jacobs – many congratulations

A carvery dinner was provided by the club which was enjoyed by all and after thankyou speeches and presentation of ties to new captains Alan Blake (north Wilts) and Ian Mitchell (The Wiltshire) the season was brought to an end and the AGM held.

Mike Bowes for ensuring that everything flowed on the day and of course all Wiltshire Golf captains that supported the event and made it a great success.
